Getting Started
Nexus Server Dashboard is a native macOS application. After installation, launch the app and you will see the connection screen where you can either connect to a server via SSH or explore the interface in Demo mode.
Demo Mode
You can explore the full interface without connecting to any server:
- Launch Nexus Server Dashboard
- On the connection screen, click Demo mode
- Browse the dashboard, settings, and all visual modules
- No server credentials are required
Connecting to a Server
To connect to a real server:
- Select the Direct Connect tab
- Enter your server hostname or IP address
- Provide your SSH username and password or key path
- Click Connect
SSH connections are initiated only by the user. The app does not auto-connect to any infrastructure in the background.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the app collect any data?
No. Nexus Server Dashboard is designed not to collect telemetry, analytics, or usage data. All information stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Does the app require an internet connection?
The app itself runs fully offline. An internet connection is only needed when you connect to a remote server via SSH, or when using network diagnostics features that query public endpoints.
How do I delete all local data?
Open Account Settings in the app and use the Full Local Data Wipe option. This removes all saved servers, credentials, cached logs, diagnostics history, and UI preferences.
What macOS versions are supported?
Nexus Server Dashboard requires macOS 12.0 (Monterey) or later.
Is the app sandboxed?
Yes. The Mac App Store version runs in Apple's App Sandbox with network entitlements for SSH connections and local runtime communication.
Why does the app need network permissions?
Two reasons:
- Loopback communication between the native macOS shell and the bundled local runtime
- Outbound networking for user-initiated SSH connections and operator-triggered diagnostics
